'I thought (after switching from commercial shaving systems with multiple blades) to have to return to comfort compared to quality, that is not the case, the knife feels comfortable while shaving. This is a particularly beautifully finished razor. It has a weight that makes it good in the hand and a perfect grip. I agree with the other reviewers that things are going a little more aggressively. However, this does not necessarily mean a smoother shaving result. With my Edwin Jagger DE86 I also get a perfect smooth shaving result. Perhaps something to take into account, considering the slightly higher price of this 3one6. As an more enthusiastic shaving, I am very happy with it anyway. It is and remains a very nice gadget.

The razor looks very nice and is well finished. The design has also received a lot of attention. Bads are fitting very well without play and the handle gives good guidance, also wet. The supplied blades from Feather have used.
Compared to my daily used feather as-d2 knife, also with feather knife loaded, this knife is clearly more aggressive. I don't have to be careful to cut, but maybe I am also very used to the forgiving feather. The shaving feeling is very good, you get good feedback from the knife. For me a knife that I will not use every day, but especially during the weekend and if I really want to be very smoothly shaved.

I have long been looking for a razor that meets all my wishes, and I think this is him. I have had different knives, such as Merkur Progress and Futur whose progress was my favorite. I found the Futur too rude, especially by my nose. Unfortunately, the chromium released under the head of the Progress (dirt continued to stick to this). This cannot happen with a whole stainless steel knife. As a fixed knife I also have the Muhle R89 Identically to E Jagger de89 and the new knife could be a little more aggressive than the 89. The 3one6 is this too, not too mild and also not aggressively a real knife for every day a lifetime ;-)

After years of Gillette Mach3 switched to Safety Razor. First practice a month with a razor of the great grocer. The result soon became better than the Gillette. Last week purchased the Merkur 34C. Relief!
With the first (equally purchased) astra the knife, I will enter the fifth day tomorrow. Still super results. After day five I will have to grab a new one. The razor is a bit small, but after a week you don't want anything else. Feels safer than the Gillette. Very accurate. Result many times better. Only the feeling already with such a beautiful device in your hand ....

I was completely fed up with the high prices of the famous cartridge blades and my skin was pretty red every time after shaving (with fresh cart.). After some research, I read about "old -fashioned" Safety Razors and the benefits of this. I came up with this Merkur 34C.
It is now 2021 and I still use it a few times a week. After almost 10 years, the 34C (with minimal maintenance) still looks just like when I bought it. It is easy to clean with an old toothbrush and some hand soap.
I remember that I was quite nervous for the first use, but it was actually very easy and smooth. There are plenty of videos on the internet for the beginner and after trying 2 times you will realize it.
For beginners I would advise a trial package with different brands of blades. I came up with feather myself.
The initial investment may seem a bit higher, but you save the rest of your life and you have a better shaving experience!

Shaving with a Safety Razor is a totally new experience for me. And what kind of one. Enjoy in one word! I had tried my grandfathers the razor about 30 years ago. I found that as a teenager but old -fashioned. However, better late than never and that certainly applies to me. Because all my life I use modern high-end shaving systems from leading brands. As far as I am concerned, this is now a thing of the past tense and may go straight into the trash.
With the Mūhle Companion I think I made a very good choice as a beginner. During my first shave I pretty much followed all the instructions and tips from the tutorials.
Result is amazing:
- Easy to handle; Pressure, corner and following contours as if I were never used to anything else.
- No tight feeling at all, instead of modern knife; Hardly the feeling of shaving, but rather removing the feeling of shaving cream. Like a hot knife through the butter.
- With my sensitive skin no shaving irritations/redness; Hardly to see that I was freshly shaved.
- With a little technique and the extra closed shaving head no slices.
- Perfect, smooth and very comfortable shaving.
- In addition, shaving took less long for me even though I took it easy with the Safety Razor; Fewer shaving movements and much less often over the same place.
- Hopefully rash and painfully ingrown hair are finally a thing of the past.
