Boker double edge safety razor Boraso Chrome
"I thought (after switching from commercial shaving systems with multiple blades) I would have to compromise on comfort compared to quality, but that is not the case, the razor feels comfortable during shaving. The technique will need to be refined though. The razor feels nice and solid, I prefer a somewhat heavier razor. Apart from the handle, the head looks a bit "plastic/chrome-like" but this does not detract from the finish and overall quality."
HeadBlade razor MOTO
Great for wet shaving your head. Works much better than a regular blade or a machine. I use it every 2 days and my head stays nicely soft.

My first straight razor! 5 years old but still loved! It almost needs sharpening but still shaves nicely! When the little kids finally allow it, the strop is at the door, a jar of grease and a cloth, a quick pass on the strop, clean the blade, wet a quarter, make some soap, smear the face and enjoy my razor.

Beautiful open razor with gold etching. There is no play between the blade and the handle, making the razor comfortable to hold. As stated in the product information, the razor is delivered sharpened and ready to shave (just stropping needed).

This is a particularly beautifully finished razor. It has a weight that makes it feel good in the hand and a perfect grip. I agree with the other reviewers that it works a bit more aggressively. However, this does not necessarily mean a smoother shave. With my Edwin Jagger DE86, I also get a perfectly smooth shave. Maybe something to consider given the slightly higher price of this 3one6. As an enthusiastic shaver, I am very happy with it anyway. It is and remains just a very nice must-have.

The razor looks very nice and is well finished. The design has also received a lot of attention. Blades fit very well without play and the handle provides a good grip, even when wet. I have used the included Feather blades.
Compared to my daily used Feather AS-D2 razor, also loaded with Feather blades, this razor is clearly more aggressive. I have to be careful not to cut myself, but maybe I'm just very used to the forgiving Feather. The shaving feel is very good, you get good feedback from the blade. For me, a razor I won't use daily, but mainly on weekends and when I want to be really smoothly shaved.

Very good razor, somewhat aggressive, but not really noteworthy. Feels nice in the hand with excellent balance and a good weight. Recommended, but unfortunately hard to get.

I have been looking for a razor that meets all my wishes for a long time, and I think this is it. I have had various razors, such as Merkur Progress and Futur, with the Progress being my favorite. I found the Futur too bulky, especially near my nose. Unfortunately, the chrome came off under the head of the Progress (dirt stuck there). This cannot happen with a fully stainless steel razor. As a fixed razor, I also have the Muhle R89 identical to E Jagger DE89, and the new razor was supposed to be a bit more aggressive than the 89. The 3one6 is that too, not too mild and not aggressive, a real razor for every day, a lifetime ;-)
Feather double edge safety razor adjustable DER-A
I just shaved with it and I am very pleasantly surprised by this scraper, the 2x against the grain under the nose, which is a problem area for me, I can only say perfect no irritation just smooth as silk in 2 passes with the included Feather blades.
Merkur 34C double edge safety razor

After years of Gillette Mach3, I switched to a safety razor. First practiced for about a month with a razor from the supermarket. The result was quickly better than the Gillette. Last week I purchased the Merkur 34C. A breath of fresh air!
With the first (purchased at the same time) Astra DE blade, tomorrow will be the fifth day. Still a great result. After day five, I will have to get a new one. The razor is a bit small, but after a week you don't want anything else. Feels safer than the Gillette. Very precise. Result many times better. Just the feeling of holding such a beautiful device in your hand....

I was fed up with the high prices of the well-known cartridge blades and my skin was quite red every time after shaving (even with fresh cartridges). After some research, I read about "old-fashioned" safety razors and their benefits. I ended up with this Merkur 34C.
It is now 2021 and I still use it a few times a week. After almost 10 years, the 34C (with minimal maintenance) still looks just like when I bought it. It is easy to clean with an old toothbrush and some hand soap.
I remember being quite nervous for the first use, but it actually went very easily and smoothly. There are plenty of videos online for beginners, and after trying twice, you get the hang of it.
For beginners, I would advise trying a trial pack with different brands of blades. I ended up with Feather myself.
The initial investment may seem a bit higher, but you save for the rest of your life and have a better shaving experience!

The short handle makes the razor comfortable to hold, and combined with the weight, it means you don't have to apply much pressure for a smooth shave and the razor can do the work. Additionally, the razor consists of two parts, making it easy to clean.
Because of the closed comb, this razor is very suitable for the beginner Double Edge shaver. If you are looking for your first Double Edge razor, I can definitely recommend the 34C.

Using the Merkur 34C for about three months. Feels good in the hand and is very user-friendly. I use it for beard contours. The short handle is a plus. Always happy that I have to 'touch up' with such a pleasant gadget.

Despite all modern inventions in wet shaving; this is it! It shaves superbly! Just lather up old-fashioned style with a good shaving cream and a good brush; and then shave! Of course, carefully, but in no time the hairs are safely gone where you no longer wanted them. For the man reading this review; it is also a nice gift for your wife or girlfriend.
And also in the context of 'now putting the brakes on; I choose recyclable material where possible'; with this razor, you kill two birds with one stone.

Now in use for over a week. I used Gillette, so this is better. Even the difficult hairs come off more easily. Had no problems with the switch, but I started cautiously. As long as the curve for the blade on the holder just touches your skin, you're good. A blade is included.

What wonderful old-fashioned scents that bring back many memories of when my father and grandfather used to shave.
The video tutorials are very valuable. The first time went almost perfectly except for a few small blood spots. That was actually due to careless handling because it was going well. The same applies here: just persevere and don't give up too quickly, it will get better. After a few times, it gets better and better and you enjoy the result.

Shaving with a safety razor is a completely new experience for me. And what an experience. In one word: ENJOYMENT! If only I had tried my grandfather's DE razor about 30 years ago. As a teenager, I found it old-fashioned. However, better late than never, and that certainly applies to me. Because all my life I have used modern high-end shaving systems from leading brands. As far as I'm concerned, this now belongs to the past and can go straight into the trash.
With the Mūhle companion, I think I made a very good choice as a beginner. During my first shave, I followed almost all the instructions and tips from the tutorials.
The result is stunning:
- Easy to handle; pressure, angle, and following contours as if I had never done it any other way.
- no tugging feeling at all compared to modern blades; hardly the feeling of shaving, but rather the feeling of removing shaving foam. Like a hot knife through butter.
- with my sensitive skin, no shaving irritations/redness; barely visible that I was freshly shaved.
- with a bit of technique and the extra closed shaving head, no cuts were sustained.
- perfect, smooth, and very comfortable shave.
- besides, shaving took me less time now despite taking it easier with the safety razor; fewer shaving strokes and much less often over the same spot.
- hopefully, rash and painful ingrown hairs finally belong to the past.
In this way, shaving is something to look forward to again and a pleasure to pamper your face.

After a few not so pleasant shaves, I put in a Mühle blade. Now shaves perfectly.
Still strange that it shaves better with a blade from the competitor (at least for me).

In use for some time now. Due to the narrow gap between blade and device, little chance of cutting. I tried it with the sharpest blade, the Feather. No problem at all. Shaves mirror-smooth and no razor burn. I can recommend it for use with somewhat aggressive and sharp to very sharp blades.
