Nowadays more and more men are abandoning the modern multiblade or cartridge razor. They switch to the safety razor. Worldwide, billions of men shave daily with this type of razor. Is shaving with the safety razor difficult?

Shaving with the safety razor is not relearning how to shave. It takes a little getting used to at first. After one week you have it completely mastered and it shaves just as easily and smoothly as the modern razor.

Which safety razor suits my beard growth best?

In case of a stubble beard or light beard growth, you can perfectly shave with a light safety razor, such as the razor with the handy butterfly closure. Do you have normal or heavy beard growth? Then you will benefit greatly from a somewhat heavier razor. These are the razors with a closed comb razor head. Want to shave tough beard stubble smoothly and comfortably? Then use a safety razor with an open comb razor head. Note, razors with an open comb shave a bit more directly or aggressively compared to regular safety razors with a closed comb.

Which safety razor suits my skin best?

Have sensitive skin and quickly suffer from dry red skin or a burning sensation after shaving? In this case, you should use a mild razor. A mild razor is light to medium weight and the razor head has a closed comb.

With normal or tough skin, you can use a slightly more aggressive razor. This razor has a bit more weight or a razor head with a closed comb. If you really have tough skin, you can also use a razor with a more aggressive open comb.

Which safety razor should I use if I shave daily or every other week?

If you shave daily, the stubble is short. Then use a regular safety razor with a closed comb. Do you have a week-old beard or shave every two weeks? Then the beard hairs are quite long. A razor with an open comb shaves longer hairs more efficiently.

Which safety razor is handy for shaving my beard?

If you have a beard, it is important that you can shave the beard contours sharply. A light to medium weight razor with a closed comb is the perfect tool for shaving the beard edges. A razor head with a closed comb has a rectangular shape. This way you know exactly where the razor blade cuts and shaves.

I want to be able to adjust the sharpness of the razor blade. Which safety razor should I buy?

The shaving surface of your skin varies by part of your face. The cheeks are easy and flat. The beard hairs here are soft. The chin is tricky and round. This is usually where the toughest beard hairs are. The skin directly under the nose is thin and delicate. The neck area is also sensitive. Moreover, getting a smooth shave on the soft skin of your neck never goes perfectly the first time. Want to shave efficiently and comfortably smooth? Then use an adjustable safety razor. An adjustable razor has different shaving settings. You can set it during shaving to mild, medium, or aggressively sharp.

 

Early in the morning I want to shave easily and quickly. Which safety razor should I buy?

In the morning, we're not fully awake and handy yet. Don't want too much fuss and hassle in the morning? Then use a razor with the handy and efficient butterfly or twist-to-open mechanism. Just twist the handle and the razor head flips open. Place the blade in the razor head and twist it closed again. Ready to use.

Also handy are the razors where the bottom part of the razor head is attached to the handle. The top part is secured by a screw thread. You unscrew the top part. Place the blade in the razor head and screw everything back together.
