This balm was an option because my order was not in stock (and I impatiently). The Balm spreads super tasty. No grains and super smooth. Irritation after shaving is gone before you realize it. Then the scent ... very subtle. After lubricating I smelled on my hand and only then could I smell something woody. I chose this aftershave for the Sandelwood scent ... it is there, but extremely well hidden. Recommended? Of course. Or for the lubricating, soothing effect. In terms of scent you do not have to purchase this balm.
