This robust safety razor has an angled shaving head. This causes the shaving head to make a more cutting shaving motion. This razor is more suitable for the experienced safety razor shaver. Classic razor or scraper with extra long handle (9.5 cm). Suitable for normal to heavy beard growth.
Many men prefer to shave with this razor. It shaves better, prevents ingrown hairs and the razor blades are cheaper than the modern expensive Gillette razor blades.
What should you pay attention to when purchasing a safety razor?
Safety razors with closed combs are the most common razors. Suitable for the novice shaver and shaving light to normal beard growth. Also suitable for sensitive skin. Razors with an open comb provide a more direct or 'aggressive' shave. These are suitable for the experienced shaver and shaving normal to heavy (stiff beard hairs) beard growth. The razor with a butterfly closure has a light shaving head and is suitable for light beard growth. With the safety razor with an adjustable shaving head, the cutting angle of the double edge razor blade and the 'gap' (= opening of the shaving head) can be adjusted. This allows you to adjust the degree of 'aggressiveness' to your personal shaving technique while shaving. This type of razor is suitable for any type of beard growth or skin. In addition, the weight of the razor also counts: a light razor for light beard growth; a heavy razor for normal to heavy beard growth.
Usage
First lather the beard hairs thoroughly, hold the razor at an angle of approximately 30 degrees to the skin, press the blade lightly on the skin and shave with the beard hairs. At the neck area, pull the skin taut with the other hand.

De koop is vandaag uitgetest en mag zeker niet als een miskoop bestempeld worden, wel integendeel. Wat zijn de bevindingen, als ik de 2 Merkur-krabbers (ja zo noemen we dat in Vlaanderen) 38C en 39C vergelijk? Welnu na 2 jaren intensief de 38C uitgetest te hebben, mag ik zeggen, dat ik intussen zo bedreven ben geraakt in dit veiligheidsscheermes, dat alle stoppels eraan zijn voor de moeite na een rustige scheerbeurt. Wel heb ik moeten leren goed te scheren en de 38C is ideaal om deze vaardigheid op te doen. In den beginne ben je niet zo goed op de hoogte, dat bepaalde zones zoals de bovenlip de kin en de kaaklijnen meer aandacht verdienen. De haren staan vaak in andere richtingen en daarvoor moet je je 38C laten 'werken'. Bij mij is dat echter 'genieten' en niet werken. Ik werk met deze krabber eerder in diagonale lijnen als rechtlijnig en dit geldt zowel voor scheren naar onder als voor het opscheren. Ook van links naar rechts voor de moeilijke zones doen wonderen. Naast het scheerboek, dat ik al van onder tot boven bestudeerde, zijn uw ludieke filmpjes, minstens zo waardevol.De 39C heeft door zijn constructie (en het ziet er weer allemaal erg Duits, dus solide uit net als de 38C-variant) een grotere snijdoeltreffendheid dan de 38C. Hij mag ook iets agressiever aangemerkt worden (om in de terminologie van de scheermesjes te blijven) dan de 38C. Heb vandaag mijn Merkur 39C SLANT ontvangen en direkt uitgeprobeerd. Dit is fantastisch gegaan. Scheert soepel en heerlijk. Een SLANT heeft iets speciaals t.o.v. andere safety razors. Is zeker niet agressief maar wel zeer efficiënt. Elk mogelijk stoppeltje is weg en zonder irritaties of verwondingen. Ik ben heel tevreden. Spijtig dat ik dit niet eerder wist.

Nu een paar keer met deze slant bar geschoren. Echt een zeldzaam soepel scheermes. 2 Passes en BBS ( met hier en daar een touchup). Normaal gebruik ik de EJ 3ONE6 en da's ook een heerlijk mes, maar ik ben bang dat de Merkur een voorkeurs mes gaat worden...toppertje
