The classic razor is back. It shaves better, prevents ingrown hairs and the razor blades are many times cheaper than modern razor blades.
What should you pay attention to when purchasing a safety razor?
Safety razors with closed combs are the most common razors. Suitable for the novice shaver and shaving light to normal beard growth. Also suitable for sensitive skin. Razors with an open comb provide a more direct or 'aggressive' shave. These are suitable for the experienced shaver and shaving normal to heavy (stiff beard hairs) beard growth. The razor with a butterfly closure has a light shaving head and is suitable for light beard growth. With the safety razor with an adjustable shaving head, the cutting angle of the double edge razor blade and the 'gap' (= opening of the shaving head) can be adjusted. This allows you to adjust the degree of 'aggressiveness' to your personal shaving technique while shaving. This type of razor is suitable for any type of beard growth or skin. Usage
First lather the beard hairs thoroughly, hold the razor at an angle of approximately 30 degrees to the skin, press the blade lightly on the skin and shave with the beard hairs. At the neck area, pull the skin taut with the other hand.
After a few practices, you will want nothing more than to shave with the classic razor.

Ik ben een beginner in het DE scheren. Na wat opzoekwerk gekozen voor Muhle R89. Ik heb gekozen voor de grande omdat deze iets groter en zwaarder is. Na ongeveer een maand gebruik ben ik zeer tevreden. Scheermes ligt heel goed in de hand. Het is bijna niet mogelijk om je te snijden als je de mesjes op tijd vervangt. Ziet er heel mooi en degelijk uit, zeker in combinatie met de houder.
